New Delhi: At Present, 14 States have deployed ‘Tourist Police’ in one form or the other. The States are Delhi, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Ministry of Tourism does not have any scheme for providing financial assistance to States/UTs for deploying ‘Tourist Police’.
This information was given by Shri K. J. Alphons, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
