Work to generate employment opportunities: CM Trivendra Singh Rawat

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that being dependent on others hampers ones’ caliber and capability. He has said that working with competence and skill is the need of the hour for the society.  He applauded industrialists, who had worked for transforming lives of workers with the help of their own resources. He said these industrialists are surely a source of inspiration for the society as they had provide job opportunities for unemployed youths.

He was speaking at a meeting with bureaucrats, former secretary Kamal Tabri and other intellectuals on generating employment opportunities, here today.  CM Rawat said that society needs those persons who can guide to generate employment opportunities and generate self -employment as role models to  motivate youths  to generate employment in different sectors in the state. “Youths should work for self-employment instead of relying on government jobs,” he said, adding that youths can do wonders, if they change their thinking power.

He said that government is working intensely towards skill development in the state. CM Rawat has said that industrialists who are working in generating self-employment can also contribute towards skill development.  He assured gathering that every possible assistance would be provided to those who had contributed for the development of the state. He welcomed industrialists’ suggestions and assured them to provide best possible assistance to them during the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh has said that government has set a deadline for the overall development of the state till 2020. He said efforts were on to draft a proposal to improve basic amenities through skill development and to generate employment opportunities for unemployed youths across the state. He has said that industrialists working at smaller scale should work  to create a platform with the government for new ventures in the state.

The gathering gave suggestions for rural development, employment opportunities at village level, agriculture, horticulture, environment, herbal development, Ayurveda, and rural tourism and to prepare road map for the overall development of the state.

Expressing his views, former Chief Secretary Kamal Tabri said that industrialists working with their own funds are boosting self-confidence of residents. He said that youths would be motivated, if government works at grass root level at villages for its development and this step would be helpful to stop migration from villages.

Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash, Principal Secretary Manisha Panwar, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary (Information and Skill Development Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Principal Forest Conservator Jairaj, Additional Secretary SC Semwal, Director (Industry) Sudheer Nautiyal  were present.
