New Delhi: Based on the extant guidelines of the scheme of National Overseas Scholarship for SCs, the candidates are selected under the scheme for studying abroad. The important eligibility criteria are as follows:-
- Age of the candidate should be less than 35 years.
- Annual Income of the family from all sources should not exceed Rs.6.00 Lakh.
- Minimum 55% of marks in Masters Degree for pursuing courses in Ph.D.
- Minimum 55% of marks in Bachelor Degree for pursuing course in Master Degree.
Apart from SCs, the benefits of the above said scheme have been provided to Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes & Landless Agricultural Labourers and Traditional Artisans

The advertisement is published in the leading Newspapers and Employment News twice in a year. The first advertisement is published at the beginning of the year and the other one during the Financial Year for publicity. The details of the scheme are also uploaded on the website of the Department.
Apart from above, the features of the scheme are also broadcast by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment through radio channels of All India Radio on the programme ‘Sawarati Jaye Jeewan ki Rahen’.
