CM Trivendra Singh Rawat sanctions Rs 2.5lakh for treatment of injured girl

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has sanctioned monetary compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh to an injured girl student from CM Relief Fund on Thursday.  The mother of girl Gurmeet Kaur, a resident of village Budhakhera, Tehsil Laksar, district Haridwar sent a letter to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, seeking financial assistance to bear medical expenses of her daughter, who has been identified as Gurpreet Kaur.

According to Gurmeet kaur, her daughter Gurpreet Kaur was seriously injured in a road accident and received head injuries while she was returning back to home after appearing in an examination at Hariom Saraswati College, Dhanori district Haridwar.  She was lying unconscious on the road and some unidentified persons admitted her to a private nursing home near Rispana, in Dehradun. The condition of victim is said to be critical.

According to Gurmeet Kaur, she is from a very poor family and husband works as a labourer to earn his livelihood.  She said that family has taken loan from relatives to bear the medical expenses, but unable to meet the expensive medical treatment. On her plea, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat sanctioned a sum of Rs 2.5 lakh for her treatment and assured her that the state government will help in the treatment of her daughter.
