Dehradun: Army Chief General Bipin Rawat and Deputy Army Chief Lt. Gen Sharat Chand have thanked Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat for his support for the construction of War Memorial boys and girls hostel of Garhwal Rifles situated at Danda Lakhaund on Sahstradhara Road in Dehradun.
Ina letter addressed to Chief Minister Mr Trivendra Singh Rawat, General Bipin Rawat said that Uttarakhand government has made significant help in the construction of hostel meant for the wards of martyrs, ex-servicemen and serving soldiers of Garhwal Rifles. General Bipin Rawat said that the grant of Rs. Two crores given by the Chief Minister for the institution would help make it self-sufficient. He hoped that the institute would prove to be a boon for the wards of soldiers living in remote parts of the state.
It is to be mentioned that a total of 250 boys and girls will be housed in the hostel premises spread over an area of 4.18 acres. A total of 125 boys and 125 girls will be accommodated in the hostel. The students of the hostel will be provided mess facilities, transportation to and fro from their educational institutes, medical facilities, library, tution facilities, audio-video room and coaching for competitive examinations at the hostel premises.
