Officials of Maharashtra Information Department on Study Tour in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: A team of officials of the Maharashtra Information and Public Relations Department, who are on the study tour, procured the information about the work being carried out by the Uttarakhand Information and Public Relations Department. Officers from the Information Department of Maharashtra and Uttarakhand shared their experiences. The officials of both the states conducted extensive discussions on how the information of public welfare schemes and programmes of the state can be disseminated among the people. Discussions were also held regarding the communication of information on time to the print, electronic, social media and their feedback.

Coming to Uttarakhand after visiting several states, Director of Maharashtra Information Department Shivaji Mankar said that Uttarakhand is a young and small state. Despite the limited resources available with the Information and Public Relations Department here, the manner in which journalist’s welfare has been taken care of by provided journalist pension, help for treatment of journalist and provision of journalistic welfare fund is also exemplary for other states. He told that in Maharashtra, journalists give example of Uttarakhand. Similarly, the Information Department of Uttarakhand is leading in creating social media manual. He also appreciated the promotion of government and public welfare schemes through cultural teams.

Officers of Maharashtra gave a presentation about the working system of their State Information Department and the innovative works. He told that the discussion based programme ‘Jai Maharashtra’ is broadcast on Doordarshan regularly. Publication of a magazine named ’Lok Raj’ has good number of readers. For the past some time, social media is being given special attention in Maharashtra.

Additional Director, Uttarakhand Information Department, Dr. Anil Chandola, said that several good efforts for the information propagation have been made by the Maharashtra Information Department. Efforts will be made to adopt them here as well.

On this occasion,  Joint Director, Uttarakhand Information Department Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Ashish Tripathi, Deputy Director K.S.Chauhan, Assistant Director Ravi Bijarnia, Senior Assistant Director, Maharashtra Information Department Kishore Gangurde, Varsha Aandhle and Irshad Bagwan were present.
