The latest outing of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s game show Dus Ka Dum that went on air only recently has now shifted to a weekend slot on Sony Entertainment Television.
And what’s special in the new version of the show is that there will be no commoners but only celebrity contestants. The new Dus Ka Dum will be called Dus Ka Dumdaar Weekend and Salman Khan will invite the choicest guests on the show to get maximum points in the BARC report i.e. like the erstwhile television rating points or TRPs.
Salman Khan wasted no time and invited one of the biggest South Indian superstars on the show, Kamal Haasan. A picture of the two superstars went viral a couple of says ago and that was from Dus Ka Dumdaar Weekend. And guess who else has been invited by Salman Khan! Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde! Accompanying her will be Ye Hai Mohabbatein actor Karan Patel.
Shilpa Shinde in a statement said about shooting with Salman Khan again after Bigg Boss 11, “I am lucky to be featured on Salman Khan’s reality show for the second time. Working with veteran actor Kamal Haasan turned out to be a cherry on the top and will be cherished by me for my entire life. I am thankful to the audience who have appreciated and supported me during my stint on Bigg Boss 11. I will always play different and versatile roles, which will be remembered for long.”
Salman Khan always keeps in touch with his Bigg Boss contestants every year, inviting them to parties at his farmhouse in Panvel or helping them in some way. In what seems like a special gesture, the Bharat actor has shot with the popular ex-Angoori Bhabi for Dus Ka Dumdaar Weekend. Salman Khan even asks Shilpa Shinde a funny question on the show that leaves her amused, but Karan Patel is silent rather not amused. What is the question?
Salman Khan in his inimitable style asks, “Kitne pratishat Bharatiya purushon ka manana hai ki koi purush kisi mahila se bahas mein nahin jeet sakta?” (What percentage of Indian men believe a man cannot win a debate against a woman?) Shilpa asks Karan to answer because he is married, to which the TV actor says he would remain silent precisely because he is married!

Shilpa Shinde, at one time the most popular face on Indian television as Angoori Bhabi on the comedy show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, faced a lot of backlash for leaving the show midway after her producer allegedly misbehaved with her. Shilpa made a comeback on Bigg Boss 11, hosted by Salman Khan, and went on to win the reality show on Colors. On Bigg Boss 11, too, she was one of the most controversial contestants.
Dus Ka Dum was first aired on Sony Entertainment Television with Salman Khan as host. It marked the entry of Salman Khan on Indian television and was hugely popular. But the latest season is back after nine years. In between, Salman Khan has been hosting Bigg Boss in Colors for the past many years. Dus Ka Dumdaar Weekend will air on Saturday and Sunday.
