CM Trivendra congratulates people of state on International Literacy Day

Dehradun: On the occasion of International Literacy Day, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has congratulated the people of the state. In his message on the eve of International Literacy Day, Chief Minister said that education is the biggest asset of a human being and is useful for nation building. He said that education has a lot of importance in our lives. Promotion of education and literacy in the state is among our top priorities. Target has been set to make the state fully literate by 2019.

Chief Minister said that we all have to take the pledge that every person should be literate and there should be no illiterate. Literacy has the potential that can enhance family and country’s prestige. He said that during the holidays, school/college going students should spare some time and under the community service, they should teach the illiterate people. They should also encourage the people to be literate, so that they can take advantage of the modern technological facilities and welfare schemes of the present era.
