New Delhi: The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has called upon the world leaders to isolate nations that promote and abet terror. Describing terror as an enemy of humanity, Shri Naidu said that it was time to join hands to eliminate the menace and reject those who perpetrate violence and create unrest.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Global Conference on ‘Unity, Peace and Prosperity through Spirituality’ organized by Brahma Kumaris, in Mount Abu, Rajasthan today, he said the choice was clear before everybody to choose between “the ones advocating peace, progress, prosperity and development and the ones preaching violence, hatred and bloodshed”
Stating that India has always upheld the ideal of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” by treating the whole world as one family, Shri Naidu said that it always wished for the peaceful coexistence with others and never acted as an aggressor. “We believe in the philosophy of ‘Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavantu‘, We want peaceful coexistence of everybody. Despite being known as Vishwaguru, India never attacked anybody”, he added.
Saying that it was ironic that even in the era of technology, communities were being identified on the basis of religion and caste, Shri Naidu said that those who were spreading violence and terrorism in the name of religion were acting against its tenets.
Asserting that only spiritual knowledge could ensure true peace, unity, harmony, and stability in the world and well-being of all humanity, Sri Naidu said that spirituality was the basis of all religions and the same spiritual thread binds them together.
“Significance of religion is not in its geographical spread but in giving spiritual peace and stability to humanity. One must understand the inherent spiritual unity of all religions. We have only studied the history of religions, their geographical spread, not their inherent spiritual unity,” he added.
Pointing out that Science and Technology has the ability to bring in a positive change in lives of people and humanity at large, the Vice President said that spiritual knowledge was needed to show the welfare path to science. He also cautioned against its misuse and called for effective utilization of technology to spread the Indian message of universal peace and welfare to the remote corners of the world.
Shri Naidu said that one must not forget India’s spiritual moorings, including our rich heritage of Yoga, tolerance and peaceful coexistence while adapting to fast-paced changes in the world.
Opining that a New India was taking shape with the aspirations and energy of our youth and young entrepreneurs, the Vice President said opportunities must be provided to them to address challenges faced by the present-day world.
Shri Naidu also stressed the need to promote value-based education that ensures lasting peace, stability in the society and creates a just, equitable social order. He said: “If the conflicts emerge from the minds of the men than the differences of peace too should be built in the thoughts, ideologies, and attitudes of people through education and shaping of their value-systems.”
The Vice President called upon organizations such as Brahma Kumari’s and other voluntary organizations to take part in programs such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat, Water Conservation, Poshan Abhiyan, Ending of Single-Use Plastic and stressed the need to bring about a change in people’s mindset and behaviour.
The Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalraj Mishra, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Minister of State for Forest & Environment, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Sukhram Bishnoi, the Chief of Brahma Kumaris, Rajayogi Janaki, Rajayogi BK Nirwair and Secretary-General of Brahma Kumaris and more than 8,000 volunteers of Brahma Kumaris were present at the event attended by dignitaries from several other countries.

“माननीय राज्यपाल श्री कलराज मिश्र जी, राजस्थान, माननीय श्री रमेश पोखरियाल ‘निशंक’, केन्द्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री, मंचासीन परम आदरणीय दादी जानकी जी, मुख्य प्रशासिका ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ एवं देश-विदेश से पधारे हुए मीडिया बंधु तथा अन्य सभी सम्मानित अतिथिगण ..
यह मेरा सौभाग्य है कि मुझे इस महान आध्यात्मिक संगठन के वैश्विक शिखर सम्मेलन के अवसर पर आप सबसे अपने विचार साझा करने का सुअवसर प्राप्त हुआ है। इसके लिए मैं हृदय से आभारी हूं। ‘आध्यात्मिकता द्वारा एकता, शांति एवं समृद्धि’ यह विषय आज के विश्व के लिए अपार संभावनाऐं संजोये है। इस विषय पर विश्व आपके विचार जानने को इच्छुक है। वर्तमान और भावी पीढ़ियां आध्यात्म और विकास के बीच संतुलन बनाने के लिए, आपसे मार्गदर्शन की अपेक्षा करती हैं।
नयी आशाओं का नया भारत आकार ले रहा है। नये युवा उद्यमी-नयी चुनौतियों को नये अवसरों में बदलने की क्षमता रखते हैं। नयी तकनीक के साथ हमें अपने पुराने संस्कारों और आध्यात्मिक आधार को नहीं भूलना चाहिए। भारतीय संस्कृति में आध्यात्म की प्राचीन परंपरा रही है-गीता स्वयं ईश्वरीय उपदेश है, भगवान बुद्ध, भगवान महावीर की शिक्षाएं, हमारे षड्दर्शन से लेकर शंकराचार्य, कबीर, रैदास, नरसी मेहता, नानक, सूफी संत तथा आधुनिक काल में स्वामी विवेकानंद जैसे गुरुओं ने समाज का आध्यात्मिक मार्गदर्शन किया है। उसी महान परंपरा को आज आप जैसी संस्थाऐं और समृद्ध कर रही हैं। योग, आध्यात्मिक दर्शन, हमारे सामाजिक संस्कार-भारत की साफ्ट पावर हैं। आप जैसी संस्थाऐं विश्व को भारत की आध्यात्मिक शक्ति से परिचित करा रही हैं।
New India is taking shape with the aspirations and energy of our youth and young entrepreneurs. They have the capability to convert challenges into opportunities. As we adapt to fast changing technologies, we must not forget our spiritual moorings including our rich heritage of Yoga, spriritualism, tolerance and peaceful coexistance. I am glad that Institutions like yours have taken this Indian message of universal peace and welfare to the remote corners of the world.
अपने लंबे इतिहास में भारत शांतिपूर्ण सहअस्तित्व का समर्थक रहा है। हमारा विश्वास ‘वसुधैव कुटुंब \कम्’ के आदर्श में रहा है। हमने कभी किसी देश पर आक्रमण नहीं किया। यह देश सम्राट अशोक का है जिसने जनकल्याण के लिए धम्म यात्राऐं कीं, देश-विदेश में शांति और धर्म प्रचारकों के माध्यम से ‘धम्म विजय’ की। हमारे शांति मंत्रों में “सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिन:, सर्वे संतु निरामया” की प्रार्थना की गई है। Share And Care अर्थात् ‘माधव सेवा से पहले मानव सेवा’ – यही हमारा संस्कार रहा है।
We have always upheld ideal of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. This is the country of Emperor Ashoka who took out Dhamma Yatras for the welfare of his people. This is the land which believed that “ Yato Dharmah Toto Jayah”- Whoever follows the path of Dharma or rightous path becomes victorious . In our Shanti mantras we pray for welfare of all “ Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramaya.”
मुझे यह जानकर हर्ष है कि हमारे माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने इस संस्था की 103 वर्षीय मुख्य प्रशासिका दादी जानकी जी को स्वच्छ भारत अभियान का ब्राण्ड एम्बेसेडर बनाया है। मैं अपेक्षा करुंगा कि आपकी संस्था सरकार द्वारा प्रारंभ किये गये स्वच्छ भारत, बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ, जल संरक्षण, पोषण अभियान, Single use Plastic से मुक्ति जैसे रचनात्मक कार्यक्रमों में सहयोग करे। आपके सहयोग से ये कार्यक्रम जन अभियान बन सकेंगे जिसमें जनसाधारण स्वत: ही सक्रिय सहयोग करेंगे। सरकार और आपके साझा प्रयास से ही नयी सकारात्मक जन संस्कृति का प्रचार-प्रसार होगा। मैं आपके सहयोग का आग्रह करता हूं।
I am sure that with your support to many governmental initiatives like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat, Water Conservation, Poshan Abhiyan, Removal of Single Use Plastic, there will be greater sociual action and a significant social change in people’s mindset and behaviour.
आज सारा विश्व अपने ज्ञान कौशल, वैज्ञानिक तकनीक, प्रबंधन के बल पर भौतिक सभ्यता की ओर निरन्तर अग्रसर हो रहा है। अखिल विश्व संचार तकनीक के बल पर एक ग्लोबल विलेज बन रहा है। विभिन्न संस्कृति, धर्म, सभ्यताओं के बीच संवाद संभव हुआ है। एक दूसरे से संवाद करने के बेहतर अवसर और विकल्प उपलब्ध हो रहे हैं।
परंतु इन उपलब्धियों के बाद भी, क्या मानव सभ्यता सही दिशा में बढ़ रही है? जिस आदर्श वैश्विक गांव का सपना हम देखते हैं वहां शांति, आध्यात्मिक, आत्मिक एकता होनी आवश्यक है। सूचना क्रांति हमें संपर्क के माध्यम तो उपलब्ध करा सकती है, पर सभ्यता साझे अनुभव, मूल्यों, आदर्शों और उद्देश्यों से बनती है, सिर्फ तकनीक से नहीं।
What we envisage as “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” the Global Village, is a global community where not withstanding diversity of cultures, languages and beliefs, the inherent spiritual unity and harmony prevails. Information technology can only facilitate contact and communication, but a civilization is built on the basis of shared experiences, values, ideals and aspirations and by preserving the best in our cultural heritage.
जब धर्म के नाम पर हिंसा और आतंक का तांडव-नृत्य होने लगता है तो हमारे मन में मनुष्य के ज्ञान और विवेक को लेकर संदेह होने लगता है। जब मनुष्य में स्वार्थ, अहंकार, भेदभाव इत्यादि संकीर्ण भावनायें उसके विवेक पर नियंत्रण कर लेती हैं तो एक दूसरे के प्रति सम्मान, सद्भावना, प्रेम, सहयोग, सहअस्तित्व जैसे मानवीय मूल्यों का अवसान होने लगता है। इससे मनुष्य के व्यक्तिगत जीवन, समाज तथा वैश्विक सभ्यता में विसंगतियां उत्पन्न हो रही हैं। इस स्थिति से उबारने के लिए आपका योगदान जरुरी है।
हम सभी के लिए यह गौरव का विषय है कि प्रजापिता ब्रह्माकुमारी ईश्वरीय विश्वविद्यालय, भारत सहित पूरे विश्व में लगभग 140 देशों में 8500 सेवाकेन्द्रों के माध्यम से अखिल मानवता को प्राचीन भारतीय सांस्कृतिक और आध्यात्मिक मूल्यों की शिक्षा प्रदान कर रहा है।
मानवता को सांइस और टेक्नालाजी के साथ आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान की भी आवश्यकता है जो विज्ञान को कल्याणकारी राह दिखा सके। आज जब विश्व में धार्मिक, जातीय विद्वेष और आतंकवाद का विष फैल रहा है तब आशंका है कि विज्ञान की प्रगति का दुरुपयोग आतंकवादी गिरोह न करें। यह विडंबना है कि संपर्क क्रांति के इस युग में भी, आज समुदायों की पहचान धर्म और जाति के आधार पर हो रही है।
धर्म की स्थापना तो जनकल्याण के लिए हुई थी न कि समाज में विघटन और हिंसा के लिए। जो धर्म के नाम पर हिंसा, आतंकवाद फैला रहे हैं वे वस्तुत: धर्म के विरोधी हैं। हमको धर्म के आध्यात्मिक आधार को समझना होगा। आध्यात्मिकता ही धर्म का मूल उद्देश्य है। हर धर्म का आध्यात्मिक आधार लगभग एक ही है। हमने धर्मों के इतिहास, उनके भौगोलिक प्रसार का अध्ययन ही किया है-उनकी निहित आध्यात्मिक एकता, उनकी दार्शनिक गहराई का नहीं। धर्म की सार्थकता उसके भौगोलिक प्रसार में नहीं बल्कि मानवता को आध्यात्मिक शांति और स्थिरता देने में है।
Spirituality is the basis of all the religions. There is an inherent unity among all the religions. The same spiritual thread binds them together. We must collectively recognize this truth and propagate it. That is what your organization is actively doing and I am happy that you have been doing it over many decades.
सिर्फ मानव को ही यह विवेक प्राप्त है कि वह स्वयं अपने अस्तित्व, उसके उद्देश्य का विश्लेषण कर सके, जो स्वयं अपने से प्रश्न कर सके और उसके उत्तर ढूढ़ने का प्रयास करे। यह प्रयास ही हमें आध्यात्मिक गहराई प्रदान करता है। हमारे द्वारा ‘स्वयं’ को खोजना ही आध्यात्म है। उपनिषदों में पंच महावाक्यों का उल्लेख है अहं ब्रह्मास्मि (मैं ब्रह्म हूं); तत् तत्वमसि (वह ब्रह्म तुम हो); अयं आत्मा ब्रह्म (यह आत्मा ब्रह्म है); प्रज्ञानं ब्रह्म (ज्ञान ब्रह्म है); सर्वं खल्विदं ब्रह्म (सर्वत्र ब्रह्म है)-ये सभी हमारी मूलभूत आत्मिक एकता की ओर संकेत करते हैं। आध्यात्मिक उत्कर्ष, दूसरे मतों, विश्वासों को नीचा दिखा कर नहीं बल्कि स्वयं अपने अहंकार को पराजित करके प्राप्त होता है। किसी आध्यात्मिक आदर्श के बिना, हमारी वैज्ञानिक और तकनीक प्रगति भी मानव समाज को सुरक्षा, स्थायित्व प्रदान नहीं कर सकती। अत: जरुरी है कि हम अपनी तकनीकी प्रगति तथा आध्यात्मिक चिंतन को पूरक बनायें। आध्यात्मिक आधार के बिना मात्र भौतिक समृद्धि से संस्कारों और जीवन मूल्यों में विसंगतियां आयेंगी- व्यक्तिगत जीवन और समाज में असंतुलन बढ़ेगा। जीवन का सरल, स्वस्थ और संतुलित बनाने के लिए आध्यात्मिक आधार आवश्यक है।
यह माना गया है कि कोई संघर्ष सबसे पहले मानव मस्तिष्क में जन्म लेते हैं अत: संघर्ष के विरूद्ध सुरक्षा भी मानव मस्तिष्क, उसके संस्कारों, उसकी शिक्षा में ही तैयार करनी होगी। आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान ही विश्व में सच्ची शांति, एकता, समरसता और स्थायित्व सुनिश्चित कर सकता है और संपूर्ण मानवता का कल्याण हो सकता है।
If the conflicts emerge from the minds of the men than the defences of peace too should be built in the thoughts, ideologies and attitudes of people through education and shaping of their value-systems. Value based education can ensure lasting peace, stability in the society and create a just, equitable social order.
मुझे हर्ष है कि आपकी संस्था ने विश्व शांति के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र के Culture of Peace सहित वैश्विक स्तर पर अनेक अभियानों में अपना महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग दिया है। जिसके लिए हमारे श्रद्वेय प्रधानमंत्री स्व. श्री अटल जी द्वारा वर्ष 2002 में संस्था की तत्कालीन मुख्य प्रशासिका दादी प्रकाशमणि जी को सम्मानित किया था। संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ द्वारा आपकी आध्यात्मिक संस्था को 7 अंतरराष्ट्रीय शांतिदूत पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया जा चुका है।
अंत में, इस महासम्मेलन में भारत, नेपाल तथा विश्व के अनेक देशों से पधारे हुए सभी महानुभावों का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए आशा करता हूं कि आप इस महासम्मेलन से शांति, एकता और समृद्धि के लिए एक आध्यात्मिक संदेश लेकर जायेंगे तथा देश और समाज को सशक्त बनाने में अपना योगदान अवश्य देंगे।
