Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel leads Torch March In Support Of Digital Banking

New Delhi: Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Vijay Goel here today led a Torch March of Sports Persons from Major Dhyanchand National Stadium to Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi in support of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s fight against Black Money and Corruption and historic move of Demonetization and Digital Banking. Prior to the Torch March, Digital Training on mobile banking for the sports persons was organized at the venue.

Sportspersons Pravinder Awana, Balwan Singh, Deepak Hooda, Unmukt Chand, Sandeep Tomar, Aman Saini, Hamza Mustfa, Rajesh Chauhan, Surender Kundu, Roshan, and Pawan Negi were among those who participated in the Torch March.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister said, sportspersons represent Youth of this country and Brand Ambassadors of goodwill and positivity. He said our Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi has utmost faith in youth of the country and believes that the youth will contribute immensely towards promoting “Digital Economy. Shri Goel expressed hope that sportspersons will further spread the message of benefits of Digital Economy. This Torch March is a small contribution from Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to create awareness about the benefits of the Digital Banking. Shri Goel said the steps being taken by the Government towards less cash in transactions will take the nation to towering heights

Shri Goel said, before criticizing the demonetization move of the Government, one must see the farsighted benefits of this initiative. He said, the initiative of the Government will help in curbing corruption and black money in the society. Digital Banking will help not only the common man but also Government to utilize its resources in a better way for initiating various welfare schemes for the poor.
