Nearly 20 passengers on board the newly-introduced Tejas Express were taken ill after having breakfast and admitted to hospitals in Chiplun on Sunday.
The food was served by a caterer contracted by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation.
Officials of Central Railway and Konkan Railway confirmed the incident. After consuming the breakfast on board the Goa-Mumbai train, they showed signs of food poisoning.
