A lady judge from a district court in Gwalior had accused Justice Gangele of sexual harassment. She also said that she was subsequently “victimised” and transferred from Gwalior to Sidhi.
She made the charges against the high court judge days after her transfer and eventually even resigned.
According to The Indian Express, the lady judge said that she had resigned to protect her “dignity, womanhood and self-esteem.” She alleged that Justice Gangele had sent her a message through the district court registrar to “perform dance on an an item song” at a function at his residence. She had avoided the function and the next day, Justice Gangele allegedly told her that “he missed the opportunity of viewing a sexy and beautiful figure dancing on the floor.”
She also accused Justice Gangele of interfering and causing harassment to her in her day-to-day sitting in court.
Senior lawyer Indira Jaising has expressed her disapproval of the clean chit given by the committee to the MP High Court Judge in a series of tweets.
