Uncategorized

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Noida on Saturday to conduct inspection of the arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here on December 25 for the inauguration of Delhi Metro’s Magenta line at Botanical Garden.

He is also likely to break the so-called ‘Noida jinx’, by attending the function on December 25. There is a superstition that any chief minister visiting Noida has to demit the office.

“Our chief minister believes in working in the interest of people and does not care for superstitions, which have prevented past chief ministers from going to Noida. With his visit he will also end the superstition attached with the place,” BJP spokesman Chandramohan said.

Authorities in Noida are busy making security and other arrangements ahead of PM Modi’s visit. District Magistrate Brajesh Narain Singh held a meeting with district and police officers on Thursday.

“A helipad has been made at Botanical Garden. After the inauguration of the Magenta line of the Metro rail, the Prime Minister will address a public rally at Amity University ground. He is scheduled to reach Noida at 1pm and leave at 2.20pm,” Noida City Magistrate Mahendra Kumar Singh said.

The 12.64-km-long metro line which will be inaugurated by the PM on Saturday is a part of the upcoming Botanical Garden (Noida)-Janakpuri West (Delhi) corridor, has nine stations, and will connect Kalkaji in south Delhi to Noida.

After the new section of the Delhi Metro is opened, commuters will be able to travel directly to the Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station from Botanical Garden in 19 minutes. The travel time Blue and Violet lines of the metro takes 52 minutes with interchange point at the Mandi House station. The Botanical Garden station has been developed as the metro’s first-ever inter-change station outside Delhi.
