New Delhi: The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has started collecting data on the Protection of Women against Domestic Violence Act, 2005 using Ministry of Home Affairs approved revised proforma of ‘Crime in India’ since 2014. A total number of 426 cases and 461 cases have been registered under the Protection of Women against Domestic Violence Act, 2005 during the year 2014 and 2015 respectively. The number of cases filed under the Act clearly shows that women are taking the recourse to law to get relief from domestic violence. Number of cases registered under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PDWVA), 2005 during 2014 and 2015 is given below:
