Dehradun: Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar flagged off the publicity van of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) from Dehradun on August 31, 2018 (Friday). Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) is a registered society, which is formed under Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. PCRA is a national government agency, which is involved in energy savings in different sectors of the economy.
Additional Director and RC Vashishth Kumar Jha, Manoj Jayant (State Coordinator-Oil Industry Uttarakhand), PCRA Dehradun Joint Director Neeraj Gupta, Deputy Director Siddhartha Saran New Delhi, Chief Area Manager Indian Oil Prabhat Verma and Territory Manager Bharat Petroleum Kanwaljit Singh were present in the programme.
The aim of the PCRA is to make oil conservation a national movement. As per its mandate, PCRA has been entrusted with the task of making people aware about the ways and means about the usefulness of conserving petroleum products and how to do it. To spread its message, PCRA uses all kinds of possible and effective mediums which include electronic, press, media like TV, radio and electronic display. Hoardings and publicity vans are used for outdoor campaigns.
