Dehradun: Through CCTNS (Crime & Criminal Tracking Network & System), all the police stations are online. They are now connected with all the police stations of the country. This would help police in finding out the criminals and solving the crime cases. Citizen charter has been implemented. FIR’s are been lodged in real time. For the second phase of the CCTNS, union government has given its approval.
Under the second phase, the CCTNS would be integrated with the Interoperable Criminal Justice System. Automation of Courts, Jail, Forensic Lab and Prosecution offices is being developed. This information was given in the meeting of High Level Committee of CCTNS held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh.
In the meeting held at the secretariat on Wednesday, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh laid stress on making CCTNS more effective. It was informed that 156 Police Stations have been connected with CCTNS. Work to connect two police stations opened in Paithani and Thalisain in Pauri is under progress. It has been decided that CCTNS working through National Data Centre would now be hosted in State Data Centre being set up in Uttarakhand. For the purpose, a separate server would be set up. In the meeting, Principal Secretary, Home, Anand Vardhan, Additional Director General Police Ram Singh Meena, Deputy Inspector General Amit Sinha, Additional Secretary IT Chandresh Kumar and other officers, were present.
