Taking a direct jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on him, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today called Modi’s statements “frivolous”.
Addressing party workers at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters today after a stellar victory in the Assembly elections of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland, PM Modi said that Congress does not consider the Punjab CM as their own who acts independently.
“In Punjab, the Congress does not even consider their CM as their own. He (Singh) marches on like an independent soldier,” Modi had said.

“Who told you that Narendra Modi? Not me for sure. Did the Congress high command complain to you against me? Anyways, let me make it clear that such frivolous statements won’t help you create a wedge between me and my party, which has full faith in my leadership and vice versa,” said CM Singh in a strong reply.

The prime minister in his address to the BJP party workers lauded the saffron party for its efforts for its historic victory in the Northeast today and snubbed both the Congress and the Left leadership.
“All parties, including BJP, will have to be alert and take care that Congress culture does not seep in somehow,” Modi had said.
