Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government recently came in praise from American virologist and immunologist, Dr Robert Malone, for its ‘miraculous’ handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and for protecting the people of the state by ensuring early treatment.
During the December episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience‘ podcast, Dr Malone said that Uttar Pradesh was able to take control of the pandemic by providing early treatment to Coronavirus patients. The virologist, known for his work in mRNA technology, said, “They deployed early treatment as packages, and managed the pandemic effectively despite being such a densely populated province.”
“It was done in coordination with the WHO (World Health Organisation). The state adopted micro-planning and preventive measures as a result of which it contained the pandemic more successfully than the rest of the world,” he added.
The state of Uttar Pradesh despite being the state with the largest population base and a high population density maintained a relatively low positivity rate and cases per million of population and fared well in managing the pandemic in comparison with all other states and countries having equal populations.
