Social Activist Anna Hazare has blamed the Centre for the rising farmer suicides in the country. While addressing a ‘Rashtriya Kisan Mahapanchayat’ in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, he said that he had written a number of letters to the centre, but they remained unaddressed.
“Today the farmer of this country is in a poor shape. The Centre is responsible for the suicides committed by the farmer. It is yet to implement the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission. I have written a number of letters to the Centre, but nothing happened”.
To address the grief of the farmers, Hazare will undertake a peaceful protest in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan from March 23. He said he had toured nine states and requested everyone to join the movement and help farmers. (Wion)
