BJP little wary over possible AIUDF-Congress alliance for its success in North-East

Uncategorized

New Delhi: Along with the southern sojourn, theBharatiya Janata Party leadership including Party president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to concentrate in the north-eastern states as well where the party is looking to grab 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats. The party is not even half mark at the moment.

Sources said that the BJP was working on the strategy to win 22 out of 25 seat in the north eastern region. In such a strategy the focus of the party is to gain maximum in Assam where there are 14 Lok Sabha seats. They are working on a plan to win 12 seats in Assam and say that the party would win that much seat for sure if the Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) led by Badruddin Azmal don’t contest 2019 Lok Sabha elections together else the party will have to work even harder.

The BJP is eying all seats in the state except Dubri and Barpeta seats where AIUDF is very strong due to concentration of Muslim population. The party is confidence of achieving this as per the calculation of the Assembly results.

The BJP is also eying all two seats of Arunachal Pradesh which it had done on earlier occasion. Tripura and Meghalaya are other states where it intends and working for a clean sweep while Nagaland’s lone seat is already with the NDA and it expects to repeat its performance.

At present, the BJP along with its allies have 10 Lok Sabha seats in the north-eastern states that is one in Arunachal Pradesh, seven in Assam, one seat in Meghalaya is with NDA and Nagaland too has one seat that is with the NDA. RSS pracharaks are working and reaching out in the remotest area of the region to help the BJP.

BJP sources working in the north-eastern states are saying that the party is not only providing training to its workers but also reaching out to booth level to contact voters. The BJP will showcase its work in the northeastern state as the maximum infrastructure work took place in this region only besides other work like rural housing, rural road, insurance, jan dhan and many other schemes. However, infrastructure is visible to all.

BJP sources said that generally people and regional political parties of the North East go along with the ruling party of the Centre. So the BJP is not only hoping but started working for a better performance by just conceding two seats in Assam to AIUDF and one more seat.
