12th State Level Philatelic Stamp Exhibition ‘UPHILEX-2022’ organized by the Department of Posts at Lalit Kala Academy, Aliganj, Lucknow, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, in the order of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He inaugurated it by lighting the lamp and cutting the ribbon and then visited the Philatelic Exhibition exhibited in 304 frames. Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh Circle, Mr. Kaushlendra Kumar Sinha and Senior Jury Member Mr. Prashant H. Pandya briefed the Chief Minister about the stamps and special covers exhibited on the occasion. On this occasion, a special set of 14 special covers with cancellations were released by the Chief Minister on ‘Shri Ram Van Gaman Path’. All these 14 places related to Shri Ram Van Gaman belong to Uttar Pradesh- Ayodhya, Tamsa River Bank, Surya Kund (All Ayodhya), Sita Kund (Sultanpur), Dev Ghat (Pratapgarh), Shringverpur, Ram Joita, Maharishi Bharadwaj Ashram, Akshayvat (all Prayagraj), Sita Hills, Maharishi Valmiki Ashram, Kamadgiri, Ramshaiya, Ramghat (all Chitrakoot).
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Postal services have a rich history. Philately connect the past with the present. Stamps have an important place in introducing the rich and glorious history of the country and the UP. For youth, Philately is a hobby as well as rich source of knowledge enhancement.
Appreciating the special cover issued on Shri Ram Van Gaman Path, the Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has an important contribution in the prosperity, culture and heritage of India, while Uttar Pradesh also played an important role in the freedom struggle. Through stamps and special covers, all these subjects are being secured by the Department of Posts and carried forward to the coming generations.
Presiding over the inauguration ceremony, Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh Circle, Shri Kaushalendra Kumar Sinha said that the Department of Posts is taking many steps to encourage Philately. Philately needs to be adopted as a hobby. With this, youth will be able to avoid mobile addiction and acquire information through philately which will enrich their knowledge.
MLAs Dr. Neeraj Bora, Mr. Amresh Kumar and Mrs. Jai Devi, jury member Mr. Prashant H. Pandya, Postmaster General Col. S.F.H. Rizvi was also present on the dais. Welcome address was given by the Postmaster General Lucknow Shri Vivek Daksh, while Vote of Thanks by the Postmaster General Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav. Yogesh Mishra and Akhand Pratap Singh anchored the programme.
Philately Workshop, Quiz, Stamp Design Competition and other philatelic games were organized for students during the exhibition. My Stamp counter was also the center of attraction for the people.

H Rizvi, Postmaster General Bareilly Region Shri Sanjay Singh, Postmaster General Varanasi Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General Agra Region Shri Rajiv Umrao, Postmaster General Lucknow Region Shri Vivek Kumar Daksh, Chairman & MD U.P. Police Housing Corporation Ltd. Mr. Prakash D., Director Postal Services Mr. Sunil Rai, Mr. Gaurav Srivastava, Mr. B.B. Sharan including senior officials of the Department of Posts, Philatelists and students of various schools remained present.
