Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat giving a gift to the tourists and local people from forest department, inaugurated ‘Sanjeevani Swasthaya Vatika’ at Bhadrakali at Muni Ki Reti, on Saturday. The Chief Minister said that an open gymnasium and facilities of ‘Marm’ and acupressure once a week could be started in the Vatika.
The Chief Minister said that each plant has a medicinal value and each person has a quality. He said that the only need is to identify these qualities. He said that medical values of plants should be identified to get health benefits and qualities of a person should be identified to benefit the entire society.
The Vatika built at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh can be visited by 50 to 100 visitors who could also do Yoga. The Chief Minister said that Vatika should be on the tourist map and called for establishing more such Vatikas in the state.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Uttarakhand has been awarded for being a ‘Film Friendly’ state for adopting a film friendly policy.
He said that four big films are being shot in the state and due to its’ natural beauty, the state has immense potential in this sector. He said that we need to have a positive approach to make Uttarakhand a tourist hub. He hoped that with all weather road, rail and air connectivity, tourism will definitely get a boost. He also honoured the workers who worked in the building the Vatika on the occasion.
Prem Chand Aggarwal, Speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha said that establishment of ‘Sanjeevani Swasthaya Vatika’ is a unique initiative and would act as ‘Sanjeevani’ for the tourists visiting it. Forest Minister Dr Harak Singh Rawat said that forest department has been trying to connect with the common people. He said that Uttarakhand has earned a name for itself in environment protection and the state government has been continuously working for environment protection and conservation. Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal said that Swasthya Vatika should be linked to employment to make it more useful. He also called for better up keep of the Vatika.
Chief Conservator of Forest Jairaj, Chief Wildlife Warden D.B.S. Khati, District Magistrate Sonika, SSP Vimla Gunjial, forest officials and public representatives were present on the occasion.
