Dehradun: Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi, team leader and Lieutenant PayaL Gupta who circumvented the entire globe on INSV ‘Tarini’ through five countries covering 21600 sea voyage made a courtesy call on Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at his residence on Monday. They apprised the Chief Minister about their adventurous sea voyage. Chief Minister presented shawls and mementoes to Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi and Lieutenant Payal Gupta,.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that we are proud of team members of Tarini. The team led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi has made Uattarakhand and the entire country proud. Their adventurous effort will inspire millions of youth in the country.
Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi informed the Chief Minister that it took eight and half months for her team to complete the campaign. This was the first team of Indian navy which operated this campaign. The parents of Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi namely Dr. Alpana Joshi and Dr Pardeep Kumar Joshi and parents of Lieutenant Payal Gupta, Mrs. Neelam Gupta and Mr. Vinod Gupta were present on the occasion.
