Dehradun: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat honoured Mr. Suraj Panwar, who bagged silver medal in the 5000-mt race walk in the third Youth Olympics in Argentina’s Buenos Aires at Secretariat. This was the first medal bagged by India in athletics in this Youth Olympics. Extending congratulations and good wishes to Mr. Suraj Panwar, Chief Minister said that heterogeneous geographical conditions and good environment of Uttarakhand are conducive for the players to excel. Our youth are naturally hardworking, adventurous and committed and hence there are good chance of success in the sports for the youth of the state. Continuous efforts are being made by the State Government to encourage sports and sportspersons in the state. The success of Mr. Suraj Panwar will encourage the youth of the state to participate in various sports. He wished Mr. Suraj Panwar a very bright future.
