Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat launched the websites of all 13 districts developed on the Secure, Scalable, Sugamya Website as a Service (S3WaaS), here today. These websites have been developed by National Information Science Centre of the Electronics and Information technology department. The citizens will be able to get information regarding administrative system, public facilities, contact information, tourist places, important documents and recruitment notices and other information of the district on these websites.
All the public services and the processes to obtain these services provided by different departments are available on the websites. R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Information technology said that in the next six months the state will develop it’s own data centre. The video conferencing facilities from block level to the offices of all the ministers, principal secretaries and secretaries will be made available soon.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state has taken another step in realizing the dream of Prime Minister Mr. Nrendra Modi of ‘Digital India’ in the information technology sector. The state is developing fast in providing digital services. The 37 hospitals of the state have been linked with tele-medicine and tele-radiology facilities. He said that Uttarakhand facing geographical oddities, should be capable of technology. He said that all the Nyaya Panchayats of the state should be digital and there is need to move forward in this sector. The Chief Minister said that three remote frontier villages of Chamoli district have been linked with modern technology. He said that with start of video conferencing facilities at the block level within six months, there will be betterment in the work culture.
Finance Minister Parkash Pant said that Uttarakhand has been making rapid progress in the field of information technology. He said that a large number of tourists visit Uttarakhand and it is important that more and more people get to know about the state and for this there is need to strengthen information technology in the state. He said that the year 2018 will be celebrated as employment year. He said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country having the website of Vidhan Sabha in Hindi. Finance Secretary Amit Negi, Director ITDA Amit Sinha, National Coordinator of S3Waas Alka Mishra and other were present on the occasion.
