CM Rawat meets Dharmendra Pradhan; takes up various issues pertaining to Uttarakhand

New Delhi/Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat met Union Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan at his residence in New Delhi. On this occasion, the Chief Minister spoke to the Union Minister on various issues pertaining to the state.

The Chief Minister, in an informal interaction with the media, said that earlier, for the widening of the Sri Kedarnath-Gaurikund pedestrian route, under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of the ONGC, an amount of Rs 4.5 crore was approved by the ONGC Board. The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to increase this fund. The Minister has given his consent for Rs 10 crores for the widening of the Gaurikund pedestrian route. Notably, the width of the Sri Kedarnath pedestrian route is being increased from 2.5 meter to 6 meter. The Chief Minister said that for the citizen welfare and infrastructure development works in Gangotri and Yamnotri, it was agreed to get them done by the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister that in the Women Polytechnic, Dehradun, being run by ONGC, presently only retired officers of ONGC are taken in the Polytechnic Board. He requested the Minister that government officials and academicians should also be inducted in the Board to which the Minister gave his consent.

On the expansion of the PNG Gas Line and CNG, the Chief Minister told the Minister in detail that PNG Gas Line has been laid till Haridwar. He said that the inauguration of the same would be done soon, after giving connections in some areas. He said that apart from this, there is plan to start CNG Gas Station in Dehradun, Haldwani and Rishikesh. The Chief Minister said that on the expansion of the PNG and CNG in the hill areas of the state, the Minister has assured that in the 10th phase, PNG and CNG would be expanded in Nainital, Mussoorie and other areas of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister that under the ‘Ujjawala’ Scheme, state government was providing free of cost gas connections to the families that do not have gas connection and their annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh. On this occasion, Secretary, Finance, Amit Negi was also present.
