Dehradun: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in “ Swatcchata se Sewa” programme held at Pandit Deen Dyal Upadhaya park in Dehradun. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat took part in “Sharamdan” to clean the park.
Informally talking to media on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that on ‘Vishwakarma Diwas’, birthday of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and monthly remembrance day of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, programmes of ‘Swatcchata’, ‘Kavyanjali’ and ‘Karyanjali’ are being held.
He said that ‘Swatccah Bharat’ is a dream of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and cleanliness effect our society, environment and economics as 60 per cent of the diseases are caused by lack of cleanliness. He said that there is need to make the general masses aware about cleanliness and efforts are being made to associate various organizations and social bodies in the cleanliness programmes.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat called upon the people to help make their homes, surroundings and cities clean and throw the garbage at the designated places only. He also called for minimum use of chemicals in our daily lives so that the water resources remain clean. He further said that water and even mother’s milk has become polluted by arsenic. He appealed for lesser use of chemical fertilizers in farming and called for encouraging organic farming.
