Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat sought information about the damage caused by severe storm/hailstorm on Friday evening from State Emergency Operation Centre at secretariat. The Chief Minister asked the employees on duty at the State Emergency Operation Centre to get information about the damage caused by disaster from districts from time to time on telephone. He said that any incident of disaster should be conveyed to senior officials immediately. He sought information regarding any damage to life and property in the districts from the State Emergency Operation Centre.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that there is need to be extra vigilant in the next three months. He also asked the district magistrates to be prepared for any kind of disaster and respond to such a situation. He also directed the district magistrates to supervise the district disaster Control rooms regularly. Strict action should be taken against officials and employees showing laxity in their responsibilities. He also asked the district magistrates to be in constant touch with public representatives in view of the disasters. He said that the telephone number of gram pardhans of gram panchayats should be updated so they could be contacted in case of any happening.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Uttarkashi and Pauri received 28 mm of rain on Friday while Dehradun received 40 mm of rain. There is information that a girl has washed away in flash flood in Gangtadi village of Badkot tehsil of Uttarkashi district. Four animals were killed in hailstorm in Bumuch village of Chakkisain tehsil of Pauri district. There was no incident of cloud burst in the state.
