Champawat: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat announced the setting up of a Degree College at tehsil Patti of Champawat and Kora River Lift Drinking Water Scheme during his visit to Champawat. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that his government believes in work rather than making false announcements. He said that the problems of the area will be looked into. He also distributed cheques worth Rs. 1, 02,38,000 to 121 farmers under the ‘Pandit Deen Dyal Upadhaya Kisan kalyan Yojna’ on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has been making important initiatives to generate employment through self-employment. Besides a list of vacant positions in government departments is also being prepared. He reiterated his resolve that corruption will not be tolerated in the state and effective steps are being taken to curb the menace of corruption.
He said that for uniformity in education system, NCERT books are being introduced in the private as well as government schools and Uttarakhand has become the first state to do it in the country. With the introduction of NCERT books in all the schools, all students will get equal opportunities in education, he added.
He said that state government will not bow down to the pressure of private sector in this regard. He further said that atleast five doctors have been appointed in each assembly segment and all the hospitals will get doctors within a year. He also gave information about tele-medicine and tele-radiology and hoped that with the introduction of tele-medicine, the treatment of all the diseases will be possible from district headquarters. He announced that all the 36 hospitals in the state have been linked with tele-medicine facilities. He said that 46 pathology laboratories are being set up for blood tests in the state. He said that besides setting up of ICU units in each district hospitals, the government will purchase 121 ambulances for 108 ambulance services. He said that soon 900 nurses will be recruited and 2018 will be observed as “Employment Year .”
He also called upon the youth to be oriented towards self-employment by processing wild fruits, adopting poultry farming and dairy farming. He said that the state government is encouraging production of LED bulbs and Women Self Help groups are being trained to manufacture these. The Chief Minister said that a sum of Rs.2600 for cooperatives and Rs.1500 crore for Organic farming have been received from central government which would be used for the development of the state.
Uttarakhand Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat speaking on the occasion said that a total of 6500 farmers have been distributed loans under ‘Deen Dyal Upadhaya Kisan Kalyan Yojna’ throughout the country. A sum of Rs. One lakh as loan on two per cent interest rate is being given to the farmers under the scheme. He said that a school at a cost of Rs. 11 crore is being constructed at Devidhura. He announced that 877 assistant professors will be recruited in the state within two months. Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that the state government only makes those announcements which are achievable.
Puran Singh Phartyal, Lohaghat MLA, Kailash Gahtori Champawat MLA, District Magistrate Dr. Ahmed Iqbal, Superintendent of Police Dhanendra Singh Gunjial and general public were present on the occasion.
