New Delhi: Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports (Independent Charge) Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore has called upon the young athletes to develop passion and ability to win in sports. Addressing the concluding session of two days National Conference on Anti Doping (30-31 January) here today, Col. Rathore cautioned the athletes about the negative side of doping and advised the athletes to do hard work with a passion and dedication to overcome challenges in life.The minister also advised the athletes not to be scared of defeats and challenges. Defeat makes you learn a lot in life. Right decision taken in adverse circumstances shape your destiny, he added. He said Mary kom, the Olympic bronze medalist and six time world boxing champion is an inspiration for the youth to follow. He said it is heartening that youth today is full of confidence to march ahead and there is a hunger to achieve goals in life.
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in a message to the conference said that Sports are a critical aspect of personality development of every individual. He said “Anti doping is a must to make sports clean and fair for all the participants and nations. Sporting bodies of various games in our country must make sportspersons increasingly aware of the ill-effects of doping. Technological innovations must be utilized to spread awareness about anti-doping.”
The conference was jointly organized by National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) and Physical Education Foundation of India(PEFI) under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
