New Delhi: The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Government of India is organising a two-day Regional Conference on ‘Path Breaking and High Impact Initiatives in Citizen Centric Services Delivery System’ in Guwahati, Assam.
The conference is being organised by DARPG in collaboration with the Government of Assam. Delegates from 8 states of North Eastern Region including Sikkim and 4 states of Eastern Region i.e. West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand are participating in the conference which aims to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of citizen centric governance, improved public service delivery through e-Governance, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly effective administration.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Roy, Project Director, Tripura State AIDS Control Society, in his presentation, said that “Communities should take part in the e-initiatives to make them more effective”. He also shared information on the ‘use of information and communication technologies for health in Tripura since 2003.’
Shri. Umakanta Swain, Joint Commissioner, Govt. of Odisha gave a presentation on ‘Changing face of education in Odisha’. He also informed that the Odisha government has started computer aided learning scheme for all the students to help them to know how to read, write and gain knowledge. This was followed by a panel discussion about e-initiatives taken in health and education sectors.
Ms. Monikc Jasuja from Master Card presented the essential of e-commerce in India and said that in India 95% transactions take place in cash. In this regard government and corporate offices are promoting, encouraging cashless transactions. She also urged that the Digital purchases, e-commerce are providing safe transactions and will save time.
Another panel discussion was held on “Vision on Digital Transformation for Citizen Centric Delivery.” Shri K.D. Vizo, Commissioner and Secretary, IT, Nagaland, Shri Rahul Singh, Secretary, IT, Bihar, Shri Atluri Rama Rao, ED, APFGC, Shri Amith Saraf, E&Y, Shri. Rajeev Ranjan, Director, Department of Revenue, Registration & Land Reforms, Jharkhand took part in the panel discussion.
The panel discussed about core Infrastructure Projects, Right to Public Services, uploading certificates into the Digital Locker and skill manpower requirement in Digital Transformation.
