A policeman and civilian were injured in two separate grenade attacks in Kashmir on Monday.
A police official said the militants attacked a police station in old town Baramulla with a grenade at around 6:40 pm resulting in injuries to a sentry.
In retaliation, cops fired several aerial rounds.
Soon after the incident, the whole area was cordoned off with the help of additional reinforcement to nab the attackers, the officer said.
Earlier in the day, militants lobbed a grenade at an army vehicle in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, which missed the intended target and blasted on the road. A civilian was injured in the attack, reports said.
On Friday, eight policemen were injured in a similar grenade attack by militants in Pulwama. Militants have been attacking security forces with grenades frequently since last summer. On June 13, a series of five grenade attacks rocked southern Kashmir in which eight CRPF personnel and four policemen were injured.
