Counter ‘Congress lies’ on social media: PM

Uncategorized

As part of BJP’s elaborate booth managementplans for Lok Sabha election 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked party workers to leverage social media to counter “Congress lies”.

Accusing Congress of peddling “lies after lies”, Modi, who interacted with booth-level workers from poll bound Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, besides party-ruled Jharkhand, asked party leaders to prepare a counter backed by facts and share it on WhatsApp and also connect voters to NaMo App.

The Prime Minister’s emphasis on social media is a fallout of BJP leaning less and less on traditional media to spread its message.

“The ecosystem that Congress has created in last 70 years is known to all but those who have benefited from it have no other job to do than sing paeans,” Modi told his audience.

He said the Congress, which was “totally cut off from people” in last four years and “utterly failed” as an effective Opposition, has the sole agenda of “malign and peddle lies after lies and mislead people.”

“Every BJP worker has to counter it through deep understanding of the subject and reply to repeated lies. Share your replies with facts,” Modi exhorted.

Tele comedy

He also advised the workers to organise booth-level programmes to apprise people of government’s programmes

“People with no vision today have become television, which always keeps on playing comedy,” Modi said targeting the Congress leadership. He asked the workers to create awareness on the achievements of the government in checking black money and price rise, besides the schemes to better the lot of middle class and poor through affordable housing and health care.
