A violent crime rocked the city of Bengaluru that saw a minor dalit girl kidnapped and raped by 6 boys. The girl was murdered after the horrific incident.
The incident took place in Manjunatha Nagar area near Mallikarjun school. The dalit girl studied in 9th standard. The police have nabbed 2 suspects, Kailasa and Sagar More. The 6 boys sexually assaulted the girl and then murdered her to cover their tracks.
Parents of the victim as well as the locals thrashed the accused in front of the Adarsha Nagar police station The family of the victim kept her body near Ambedkar circle in the city and protested throughout the night. There was some vandalism by the locals who set fire to tyres and vented their anger.
Minister MB Patil has given a compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs to the family. An addditional help of 8 lakhs might be given by the government.
Karnatka CM Siddaramaiah termed the incident ‘inhuman and condemnable’ and said ‘Whoever is responsible for this, action will be taken’
BJP affiliated ‘Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad’ (ABVP) activists surrounded CM Siddaramaiah’s car and demanded quick action in the case. They alleged that police did not investigate the matter properly as the accused have not been caught.
