Delhi Police on Wednesday said the body of a newborn was found in the lavatory of an AirAsia aircraft, PTI reported. A doctor from the airport’s medical team confirmed that the baby was delivered on board the flight that had arrived from Guwahati. A suspect has been detained.
The “premature dead foetus” was discovered when the aircraft was preparing to land at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The crew alerted the police, who detained the woman after questioning all the female passengers on board the flight, the airline said.
AirAsia said the matter has been reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. “We will be assisting in the investigation and cooperating with all agencies concerned.
