The 9th ‘International Yoga Day’ was celebrated enthusiastically by the Department of Posts in various Divisions and Post Offices. It was inaugurated by Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav at the Regional office located at Varanasi Cantt Head Post Office. On this occasion, he emphasized upon the officers and employees of the Department of Posts to practice yoga regularly and add it to their daily routine.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said in his address that Yoga is actually a science of living a disciplined life. Through ‘Yoga: Karmasu Kaushalam’, this priceless and unique heritage of Indian culture has been adopted at the globally. In today’s materialistic age, yoga is not only a means of staying healthy, but also a strong support for the protection of humanity. It works on all the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our life. This ‘International Yoga Day’ has also been celebrated by dedicating it to the theme of ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ‘Har Aangan Yoga’. Shri Yadav said that to make this Yoga Day special and to explain the importance of Yoga, people enthusiastically downloaded digital postcards from the microsite created by the Department of Posts for digital postcards.
On this occasion, Assistant Director Brajesh Sharma said that Yoga not only keeps us away from negativity but also creates positive thoughts in our mind. Assistant Director Ram Milan said that by adopting yoga, we all can become partners in building a healthy and fit India. Yoga instructor Shri Someshwar Kumar Yadav performed yoga exercises on this occasion, explaining the importance of various asanas under the yoga protocol.
On this occasion, Assistant Director Brajesh Sharma, Ram Milan, Assistant Postal Superintendent Masoom Rashdi, R.K. Chauhan, Ajay Maurya, Inspector Shrikant Pal, Dilip Pandey, Indrajit Pal, Postal Assistant Mr. Prakash Gupta, Manish Kumar, Rahul Verma, Anand Pradhan, Pankaj Singh, Shambhu Kumar, Ajita and many others were present.
