The 76th anniversary of Independence Day was celebrated by the Department of Posts in Varanasi as the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. In a function organized at Varanasi Cantt Head Post Office Campus, the Postmaster General of Varanasi Region, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav hoisted the flag and honored postal employees who have done excellent work in various fields. A Special Cover with special cancellation on “Har Ghar Tiranga” was also released by Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga.
On this occasion, Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that in Amrit Mahotsav period Independence Day is not just a festival, but a model of pride and honor. The Tricolor flag represents national integrity and signifies the hope and aspirations of Indian people. We can contribute to the progress of the country by working honestly in our field and helping the people. Mr. Yadav said that, Amrit Mahotsav gives us an opportunity to feel the freedom afresh and be aware of rights as well as our duties recognizing┬а the value of independence and remembering the great men who sacrificed for the country.
Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that many welfare schemes of the Government of India are being operated through post offices. By reaching them to all the people of the society, we can give people their rights and fulfill our duties. This will be the real significance of Independence Day.
On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Rajan Rao,┬а Superintendent of Posts PC Tiwari, Assistant Director Dinesh Sah and Brajesh Sharma, Senior Postmaster Chandrashekhar Singh Barua, Postmaster Cantt Head Post Office Gopal Dubey, including many Officials participated with great enthusiasm and celebrated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
