‘Dhaad’ representatives urge CM Rawat to organize ‘Harela’ festival at government level

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat met representatives of ‘Dhaad’ organization at Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday. The delegation requested the Chief Minister to organize ‘Harela’ festival at the government level.

 Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that ‘Harela’ festival is associated with environment and people of Uttarakhand are naturally nature friendly. He said that people of state have liking for ‘Harela’ festival. He further said that during the ‘Harela’ festival this year, 2.50 lakh saplings were planted for rejuvenation of Rispana river and 1.67 lakh saplings were planted for Kosi River rejuvenation.

 Appreciating the efforts of ‘Dhaad’ organization in propagating the local culture, Chief Minister said that the state government encourages the social bodies engaged in social causes. “We have a tradition to give importance to nature and we pray to different forms of nature.  Our folk songs and festivals give message of nature’s love and environment protection. We have to maintain our tradition of environment conservation, culture of love and celebrating festivals,” he said.

The representatives of ‘Dhaad’ presented a sapling as a symbol of ‘Harela’ to the Chief Minister. The patron of ‘Dhaad’ Lokesh Navani, President Harsh Mani Vyas along with Tanmay mamgai, D.C. Nautiyal, Dharam Singh Rana and Saket Rawat were present on the occasion.
