Uncategorized

Goa: FC Goa defeated Quess East Bengal 1-0 in their first pre-season friendly back on home soil. A solo effort by striker Ferran Corominas in the 75th minute was enough to see the Gaurs beat the team from Kolkata.

The chances were few and far between in the first half with the Gaurs controlling the play without ever really threatening the opposition goal.  Ahmed Jahouh looked in fine form, anchoring the midfield and breaking up play regularly.

The second half began in much the same fashion as the Gaurs pushed to take the lead in front of their home support at the Bambolim Athletic Stadium. Then, in the 75th minute, Coro went through on goal and rounded the keeper before cutting back to place the ball in the top right corner.

In the absence of Sergio Lobera, Assistant coach Jesus Tato made use of the entire squad in order to ensure the team

It was a positive run out for the Gaurs in front of a packed house on a night when they launched their official new orange home jersey. The Goan side will now look to replicate the same result when they take on Indian Arrows on Tuesday night ahead of their inaugural ISL game against Northeast United FC on 1st October.
