New Delhi: The 15th Finance Commission headed by Chairman,Shri N.K. Singh will visit the State of Karnataka from 23rd to 26th June, 2019. This will the the 22nd State of India that the Commission will be visiting.
As part of its visit, the Commission will be interacting with the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy alongwith his other Cabinet colleagues and senior State Government officers. The Commission will also be meeting representatives of political parties of the State. There will be separate meetings with the representatives of Rural Local Bodies and Urban Local Bodies of Karnataka. An interaction of the Finance Commission has been scheduled with senior economists and another with IT experts including Sh. Nandan Nilekani, on possible Performance Based Incentives to promote DBT, PFMS and Digital Economy. The Commission will also hold a meeting with the representatives of trade and industry of the State of Karnataka.
During its stay in Karnataka, the Commission will be visiting the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC). The KSNDMC is a State of the Art Centre for managing and monitoring disaster response and a first of its kind established in the country.
One of the major issues being faced by Bangalore city is management of its traffic. To understand the issues and solutions a visit to Bangalore City Traffic Management Centre has been planned.
The Finance Commission will also visit the Bosch Experience Centre. Bosch is one of oldest Companies in Bangalore. It has recently opened a unique State of the Art Experience Centre.
