Five-day Film Appreciation Course concludes

Dehradun: Organised at Suchna Bhawan, Ring Road, five-day Film Appreciation Course concluded in the presence of the Vidhan Sabha Speaker Prem Chand Aggarwal. At the concluding programme, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Prem Chand Aggarwal presented the certificates to the participants. In his address at the programme, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Prem Chand Aggarwal said that this is an appreciable effort. He said that these types of the workshops will prove to be a milestone for our youth. He said that for the encouragement of the film makers, the state government is making all possible efforts. He said that state government has exempted the shooting of the films from the shooting tax. He said that with the support of FTII, Pune, these types of courses should also be conducted in hill areas as well. He said that for this the state government will extend all possible support. Students from various states have attended this workshop. He said that along with Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand is also land of meditation. We have scenic beauty here.

Addressing the workshop, Director of Film Appreciation Course Pankaj Saxena, who has come from FTII, Pune, said that five-day workshop in Uttarakhand has been a success. He said that FTII, Pune has been organising such workshops at different places. He said that the environment in Uttarakhand for film shooting is favourable. He said that such workshops would be very beneficial for the youth. In future also, other such workshops would be organised in Uttarakhand.

Associate Professor from FTII, Pune, Dr. G.B.Singh, gave information about admission for various courses at Film and Television Institute, Pune. Film Producer Avinash Pokhriyal gave detailed information about film production and script writing. Additional Director, Information Department, Dr. Anil Chandola, thanked all the participants, who participated in the workshop. He said that state government is providing various types of facilities to the film makers. He also thanked FTII, Pune for organising the workshop in Dehradun. The programme was conducted by Deputy Director and Nodal Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council KS Chauhan.
