Great reformers belong to entire humanity: CM Trivendra Singh Rawat

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that great reformers belong to the humanity and they should not be confined to a particular section or caste.

Inaugurating the ‘Bhim Mahotsav’ organized by Doon Buddhist Society at parade ground on Saturday , Chief Minister said that Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar was not only a framer of Indian Constitution but contributed immensely in the foreign policy of the country.

The Chief Minister said that soon after the independence of the country, if international relations were based on cultural basis than many problems would have been solved. He said that Nepal is  Hindu nation while there are followers of Buddhism in Tinet, China and Japan. He said that Buddhist religion originated in India and has deep roots in the country. He further said that during the times of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the caste factor was dominant in the society. The Chief Minister said that there was pressure on Dr. Ambedkar to adopt Islam or Christainity but he opted for Buddhism for the sake of country and the society. He followed Lord Buddha’s teaching of “Buddham Sharanam Ghachami”.     He understood the richness of Buddhism and worked for eradicating caste differences amongst fellow human beings.

The Chief Minister said that human segregation on the basis of caste and creed is painful which is understood by a sensitive person.” Differentiating between people born in the same soil and culture is inhuman,” he added.

 He said that there is greater need to understand the teaching of Lord Budhha. He said that there could be prosperity and happiness if we follow the principle of taking care of everyone only than society will develop. He also agreed to provide parade ground for the function of the Doon Buddhsit Society without any charge.

Dehsraj Karnwal, MLA said that Lord Buddha is a symbol of peace. He said that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was great champion of women’s education and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi is paying special attention towards women’s emancipation.   He also praised Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat for work working for the development of all the sections of the society. Buddhist Guru Shakya Tenjin Ratna Rinpoche said that India is land of Lord Buddha. He said that Friendship and compassion was his principles which teaches us to live with love.   He said that there was greater need to spread the message of friendship and compassion to the entire world. He eulogized Dr. Ambedkar is a tall statesman and constitution maker.

Doon Buddhist Society President Rajesh Singh, Former IAS Chander Singh and Sant Lal were present during the function.
