Dehradoon: Himgiri Zee University celebrated World Tourism Day on 17 September 2017. Like every year this year the day was celebrated on the theme of Sustainable Tourism- A tool for Development. In fact for the whole year the idea of Sustainable Tourism is popularized throughout the world.
On the occasion the Hotel Management students of Himgiri Zee University arranged the food stalls of Gujarati, Marathi and Garhwali cuisine. Moreover the guests presented sipped mocktail prepared by the students.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Ranjan appreciated the efforts of students and said that India can become a world Tourist hub only when the power of the youth is with the country. Registrar Dr. Suresh Dhyani heaped praise on the efforts of the students.
On the occasion competition were organized in Cuisine, essay writing and Poster Making categories.
Students gave importance on the tourism by their speeches and Skits. Dean and Head of the Department were present on the occasion. The programme was made successful by Associate Dean, Hotem Management Department Subodh Chaudhary, Ashish Dhyani, Suraj Negi, Megha Sharma, Pradeep Bhatt, Rajesh Kumar and Pritam Singh.
