Dehradun: Himgiri Zee University held its annual festival Expression 2018 on 15-16 March. The two day event was a total feast for the students, staff and guests of the University. This year the main attraction of the event was MTV fame DJ Perisha, DJ Sach and Singer Ankky Bali. Their programme was fusion and contemporary music to which the students danced throughout the evening.
On the first day of the event Habib Tanvir’s Naya Theatre artists performed the famous play ‘CharanDas Chor’. The play was arranged by SPIC Macay Dehradun team. The most prominent artist of the day was Nathha, Omkardas Manikpuri of Peepli Live fame. This programme was coordinated by Dr. Akanksha Shrivastav, Assistant Professor, Himgiri Zee University.
At the start of the event the Vice Chancellor, Himgiri Zee University, Dr. Rakesh Ranjan invited all the people to divert their energies to create a strong way for the progress of the nation. Especially addressing the students he emphasized that he expects the students to do well in every sphere of life be it social, political or scientific. He also emphasized on the importance of culture in the life of every individual in the country and asked them to preserve the rich heritage and culture of the country.
Students of the University participated in great numbers in the two day fest. For them competitions like Dance Junction and Singing Express were held. On the evening of the first day prominent bands of the city competed in War of Bands, where Melodic Watch emerged as the winner. Mr. Vivek Dhyani of Studio Carpediom and Mr. Manish Thapliyal were the judges of the programme.
On second day Ada Mrs. India was the main point of attraction as she graced the occasion by being the special guest to Ramp walk and Fashion competition. CFO, Mr. Anterdeep Singh added that the event of 2018 was a huge success and he also thanked all the team members and students of the organizing committee for the two day event.
The event was completed with support of Chief Finance Officer Mr. Anterdeep Singh, Senior Administrative Officer Mr. Vishnu Mathur, Mr. Sudheer Deoli, RJ Sanju, RJ Priyanka, RJ Rishabh and Mrs. Akanksha Shrivastav.
