Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s football skills left the sizeable crowd gathered at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai ecstatic as he curled one in David Beckham style, in a charity football match that Virat Kohli-led ‘All Heart’ side won 7-3 against Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘All Stars’ team on Sunday, 15 October.
Dhoni curled over the opposition wall a perfectly taken free-kick, which filmstars’ goalkeeper Mark Robinson had no answer. He scored another goal and was fittingly awarded ‘Man of the Match’ while playing for the All Heart team led by Kohli.
Kohli’s fans were also not disappointed, as he sprinted down the right flank to score once and then did an impromptu bhangra jig.
Anirudha Srikkanth (2), Kedar Jadhav, and Shikhar Dhawan scored the other goals for All Hearts.
When All Heart were leading 4-1, Ranbir Kapoor pulled one back for the All Stars in the 57th minute, but All Heart managed to score three more goals thereafter.
