New Delhi: The two-day meeting of the Joint Steering Committee on Homeland and Public Security of India and Israel concluded here today. The Indian delegation was headed by Shri T.V.S.N. Prasad, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs and the Israeli delegation was led by Ambassador of Israel, Mr. Daniel Carmon. The delegations had inter-ministerial representations from both sides.
The meeting follows the resolve of the Prime Ministers of both countries to combat the grave threat that terrorism poses to peace and security including from non-state actors, and with an aim to enhance cooperation and to boost the bilateral relations between two countries.
The objectives of the meetings were capacity building and modernization in the Police Forces besides border management. Both sides agreed to work out the modalities to address these issues. The discussions were held in a friendly atmosphere and it was agreed to maintain sustained interactions to enhance security cooperation between both countries.
