New Delhi: The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today that in order to undertake a feasibility study on marketing of LPG in composite cylinders by Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), a public tender was invited by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. The pilot study is proposed in three select markets of Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Pune. This study is expected to commence after obtaining approval from the Statutory Authorities. Based on the results of Pilot study, OMCs will decide about marketing LPG in composite cylinders. No additional funds are required as the future course of action for marketing LPG in composite cylinders is not finalised.
