Dehradun: Israeli Ambassador to India Mr. Daniel Carmon met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at Chief Ministers’ residence here on Thursday.
Both held detailed discussion on mutual cooperation between Uttarakhand and Israel in the field of agriculture, water conservation and higher education. Chief Minister said that India and Israel are natural friends. He said that Israeli technology and experience could be of use in agriculture, water conservation besides social and economic activities. There are possibilities of cooperation in higher education and skill development. Recently, the State Agriculture minister had participated in an exhibition in Israel. The Israeli technology of drip and sprinkler system in irrigation could useful in Uttarakhand.
Mr.Daniel Carmon said that relations between India and Israel have become stronger in the past four years. Both the countries have signed important agreements in defence, agriculture and water conservation fields. Israel is exploring the possibilities of working in cooperation with state governments along with the Central government. Israel has opened 27 Centres of Excellence in India in this connection. Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash was also present in the meeting.
