Jodhpur: A trial court in Jodhpur on Wednesday dismissed the plea of former forest officer Lalit Bodha against Bollywood actor Salman Khan, for misleading the court in connection with the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
In October 1998, Salman Khan was charged with poaching two blackbucks at Jodhpur’s Kankani village.
Khan was also charged with possessing an unlicensed .22 rifle and a .32 revolver which he allegedly used in poaching the blackbucks.
During the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya’s movie, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in 1998, Salman allegedly went on a shooting expedition along with actors Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu, killing two blackbucks in Kankani village. Following protests by the local Bishnoi community, a case was later filed against Salman and the other actors.
