Dehradun: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat distributed the winning teams of the “Ganga Quiz” organized by the National Clean Ganga Mission and Drinking Water (Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation, Government of India) and State Project Management Group (Namami Gange), Department of Sanitation, Uttarakhand at Doon University, Dehradun.
Congratulating the participants and winners of the Ganga Quiz, especially the girl students, Chief Minister said that since ancient times, Ganga has been an integral part of our life, civilization and culture. Ganga has deeply influenced the minds of Indians and Hindus from all over the world. That is why today people around the world are worried about the cleanliness of the Ganga.
Chief Minister said that Ganga fulfils spiritual and material needs. In the scriptures, the Ganga has been referred to Tripathgamini. He said that today we need to take a firm resolve to make the Ganga clean. Apart from our personal responsibility, it is collective responsibility as well. This is a question of purity of water. Efforts have been made to revive the Rhine river by Rhine Development Authority. We too will have to be determined for the cleanliness of the Ganga. Chief Minister said that for the cleanliness of the Ganga, one has to work not only by participating in competitions but by joining spiritually.
First Prize in Junior category went to AN School, Rudrapur, Second to Delhi Public School, BHEL Haridwar, Third Prize to Dr. JVN School, Rudraprayag and First Prize in Senior category went to Koormanchal Academy Almora, Second Prize to The Asian Academy Pithoragarh and Third Prize to Campus School Pantnagar. Chief Minister administered the oath to the students to keep the Ganga clean.
